Training/Safety Officer
Tyler Hickerson
Beginning his fire service career in 2009, Training Officer Hickerson began his full-time career with Manchester Fire Rescue in 2014. He has graduated with an Associates degree in Fire Science Technology from Vol State Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Service Administration from Columbia Southern University. He currently holds Fire Officer II and Safety Officer certifications. Training Officer Hickerson’s duties include managing the training program, ensuring that all personnel meet NFPA guidelines by obtaining a minimum of 192 training hours and 40 hours of in service training each year. He also serves as the departments scene safety officer and responds to incidents involving fire suppression, major vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and any other high-risk incident to maintain safe operations.
