A.J. is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) with more than 15 years of leadership experience in municipal parks and recreation. As Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Manchester, Tennessee, he oversees strategic planning, facility operations, recreational programming, and long-range initiatives that enhance quality of life and strengthen the community.
Throughout his career, A.J. has developed a reputation for collaborative leadership, building partnerships with elected officials, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to expand recreational opportunities, improve public facilities, and secure grant funding. His expertise includes program development, capital planning, budgeting, personnel management, and community engagement.
Before becoming Director, A.J. served in several leadership roles with the City of Manchester and previously led the parks and recreation department for the City of South Pittsburg, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Services from Middle Tennessee State University and an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Motlow State Community College.
